GCC/IBT LOCAL 6-505M eNews..... Aug - Sept 2011

There have been several of our members experiencing hard times these days from the lack of work due to the downturn of the economy. Our members now can call 211 for assistance in utility bills, rent, food pantries, child care, credit card debt, job education and many other issues that they may be dealing with. The 211 program works with several different agencies such as The United Way and the Missouri Foundation for Health that may provide you and your family with valuable health and human services in your area. See flyer for details on the 211 program. The St. Louis Labor Council is also providing assistance through the Five for the Fight Fund. For more information on Five for the Fight, please call Chico Humes at the Union Hall for a referral.

2011"Upcoming Events". planned by your Local are listed on the right. Please click on the event name to learn more about the Labor Day Parade on September 5th. and the Golf Tournament on September 10th. The Fishing Tournament has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 1st at Bull Schoals Lake at the Theodosia Marina. We planned on a large turnout this Spring but the weather did not cooperate. The massive flooding in the Theodosia area prevented us from holding the tournament.
